Holiday Office Party Ideas
Throughout the Holiday season, we all attend, on average 3 parties to celebrate
the season. Our Holiday office party has become one of the things that I look
most forward to each season. The reason I have grown to love this party and
why I continue to help plan it each year is that we do our best to make each
party unique and memorable for our employees. Rather than having the same
party, with the same food, at the same place year after year, we work together
to come up with Holiday office party ideas that break from our traditional
parties in the past.
We are a non-profit organization, so we also have to keep money in mind when
coming up with Holiday office party ideas. Since we are a social service
agency, we have decided to incorporate our clients in our party and invite them
to our party. We have gifts for the children who attend and give the families
a food basket to take with them and enjoy. We have found that we like giving
to the families that we serve rather than spending a lot of money on
decorations, food and gifts for each other. We also work together the month
before to make our own decorations. One local non-profit organization opens
their Christmas party to the community and holds a silent auction along with
cookies and punch. It raises money to help the people that they serve and also
raises awareness in the community about the services that they offer.
I recently began doing some work helping to plan Holiday parties for other
local agencies and have had to come up with new Holiday office party ideas.
One of the best resources for the ideas I have used has been the internet.
When I get in a rut, I research party ideas and think of how I can incorporate
them in the Holiday Spirit. This might mean having a swing band or Mariachi
band playing Christmas music rather than a more traditional band. I have found
that music can actually make or break a party, so that is one of the first
things I take into consideration when brainstorming for Holiday office party
ideas. I have learned that it is ok to break with tradition and to step
outside the box when planning parties. Celebrate with breakfast rather than a
night out, give money to a local organization rather than giving gifts to each
other, play games rather than simply sitting and listening to music. Holiday
parties should be fun and memorable, so take all this into account when
planning your next Holiday office party.
Christmas Office Party Game Tip #1
When planning your Christmas Office Party games, make sure to keep in mind the following questions:
* What is your goal in playing games at the party? Icebreaker? Entertainment? Awarding of Prizes?
* What is the personality and age mix of those attending the party?
* What is the 'feel' of the party? Casual? Dressy? The 'atmosphere' desired will dictate the type of games to be played.
* What is the size of the party? Certain games are more successful depending on the number in attendance.
* What is the size and layout of the party location? Some party games work better depending on the venue. |
Christmas Office Party Game Tip #2
Remember to make sure everyone is included in the games and see how the party livens up. |
Christmas Office Party Game Tip #3
Christmas Office Party Games don't have to be complex to be fun, in fact, the simpler the game, the better most guests seem to like them, and the less work they are for you! |
