Office Holiday Party Ideas
It’s Christmas
and parties are being held left and right! Christmas parties are fun,
and this is why several companies host parties during the holidays to
give employees a break. Games are one of the best things in parties.
If you have been assigned to think and host games for the parties, do
not fret – here is a list of office holiday party ideas
to keep everyone entertained and involved, resulting in a fun and
memorable day.
Celebrity
Couples Guessing Game – This is a game that can be played
right at the start of your office party. Prepare a list of celebrity
couples like Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, Victoria Beckham and
David Beckham, and Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake. You can
even get pairs from famous movies like Jack and Rose (Titanic).
Write the names of the celebrity in post-it notes, and all the
guests should have one post-it note stuck on their back. Everyone
has to find their celebrity pairing partner without asking for
names. All that they are allowed to say are descriptions about the
celebrity. Give a prize to the first few persons who can find their
match. Continue giving small prizes for the others until everyone
has found their pair. This is one of the best office holiday
party ideas to make your guests talk to each other. It
encourages shy people to mingle with everyone, and party butterflies
to get to know even more people. At the end of the game, have them
sit beside their partners, giving them more time to chat and get to
know each other.
‘First
to Give Me’ Game – This game is best done when you
sense that the party is starting to get dull. Games always catch
people’s attention, and this will bring back the liveliness of
your party. To play the game, just stand in front and give a prize
to whoever can bring the item that you mention in front. Think of
items that are not so common but would probably be present in your
party. Some examples are pictures of pets, the oldest phone,
discount coupons, shoelace, etc. This will make your guests search
through their bags in order to win a prize! Tip: It’s better
to have a prepared list of 10-15 items before the party starts. You
can do sets of 3 or 4 whenever the party becomes slow.
Banned
Hearts Game – If you are thinking of a game that can be
played all throughout the party, this is a good one that you should
definitely try. Prepare small hearts cut out. Stick it onto guests’
chests when they arrive. Post a list of banned words in a place that
everyone can see. Whenever someone says a banned word, a guest can
take that person’s heart. Whoever has the most heart by the
end of the party wins the game and gets a prize. Some good examples
of banned words are sexy, delicious, tired, but, call, no, best, and
home.
